Interview With Sarah

I am a food lover, dance floor fiend, hopeless romantic, make up obsessed, product ingredient junkie, lover of weddings and anything to do with them, sentimental soul, sun worshipper, yoga lover, confidence booster.

My journey – My hindsight is your foresight

My journey has been very ‘colourful’ shall we say! I was your average teenager, sporty, loving life and no worries about my body or skin. But things took a BIG change – I was going on holiday with one of my best friends and decided that I wanted to be ½ stone lighter to look more like her…how many times have we all compared ourselves to someone else? Now at that age, I had NO idea how to lose weight, so I did the only thing I knew – STOPPED EATING! Did I lose weight…of course! Was I healthy? FAR from it! I was tired, lost my zest for life and my skin suffered massively. After returning from that fateful holiday, my body rebelled and I gained a lot of weight and was miserable. The good old yoyo dieting rebound effect had well and truly taken hold. No matter what I did, I just couldn’t lose weight.

Now let’s talk about what my skin was doing….Not what I wanted it to do, that is for sure! I had one of those antibiotic roll on’s from the Drs that bleached my pillows and everything in sight and you could play dot to dot from the spots I had. At this point in my life I was training to be a professional performer, hoping to hit the West End stage – a career that is very image focused. I was in turmoil and felt like I had lost all hope. To top it all off, I had a huge injury in my first year at Performing Arts college and couldn’t dance for an entire year. I made a vow to myself that I would not go back to college until I had sorted this all out, but again I had NO IDEA how. I resorted to the only method I knew – yoyo dieting, calorie counting and harsh treatments on my skin. I stressed constantly about food and calories. I had a brain that was like mush and my energy was non-existent. I did fulfil my hopes to become a professional performer and whilst performing in the musical Starlight Express, I was introduced to a botanical skincare company. I tried the products and fell in love. My skin finally felt healthy.

I loved it so much that I decided to become an ambassador for the company so I could share the benefits of the products with others. This was where my passion for health, wellness, make up and helping women feel confident and beautiful in their own skin began. After attending product training sessions galore I knew I wanted a change of career and decided to go back to school. I studied Naturopathic Nutrition at the Prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicine in central London. It wasn’t until this point that I FINALLY understood what had happened to my body and skin all those years earlier. I then went on to study Beauty Therapy and trained in Make up with the prestigious Val Garland so I could help women just like me. I look at skin health from an inner and outer perspective – great diet coupled with a great skincare regime. And I want to ensure that you don’t have to go through the years of trying to figure out this ‘diet’ thing on your own like I did.

I have written articles for Pure Beauty Magazine, trained 1000s of consultants in the beauty industry on product ingredients, make up and nutrition, led over 2500 through a 30 day clean eating programme, been a resident blogger on Skin health for We Are the City, and have been interviewed countless times on various health podcasts.

My wish for you is that you have the BEST day of your life, just like I did on my wedding day.

You DESERVE to be the Glowing, Beautiful Bride you have always dreamt of being. After all YOU are the most important thing on your big day.
