Supplement recommendations

Supplementation is more necessary than it has ever been. With over farming of soil, our food is less nutritious than it used to be. Top that off with a more stressful lifestyle which depletes nutrients in the body and it is no surprise why people’s skin and health is suffering. With the right supplement regime you can really support your new found healthy diet that you learnt all about in part 3 – eat your way to clear skin.

When looking at supplements. QUALITY is a big consideration. If you are taking cheap supplements that are loaded with fillers and bulking agents you will throwing your money down the drain as that’s exactly where those supplements will be going! Buy cheap, buy twice is my FAVE mantra!

When looking for quality supplements, look for the GMP (good manufacturers practice) stamp of approval.

Here is a list of basic supplements for good skin and great health:

A good all round multivitamin and mineral.

Vitamin C with bioflavonoids.

An antioxidant blend.

An Omega 3 supplement (krill oil, fish oil or if vegetarian one coming from flaxseed).

MSM. Sulphur is needed for new cell formation as your skin is constantly renewing itself and without sulphur it cannot do this sufficiently. MSM has been shown to not only enhance the beauty of the skin, nails and hair but also helps with skin healing, acne, allergies and much more. Sulphur is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body but is often forgotten as a crucial element in health. It is a constituent of keratin and collagen which are substances in the skin nails and hair and this is why skin, hair and nails will improve when taking MSM (methyl sulfonyl methane) 1000mg 3 times per day is a good starting point.
